The following is an excerpt from a review of one of Cheryl’s cabaret acts:
"Cheryl Metrick ...from the way she took command of that stage you would swear she'd been here before...everything was right in place and her body language, connecting with the audience, was first-rate. Her material was ...inspirational. She was just as at home with the hilarious 'Beethoven Chased by Rossini' sung as if she were a cat.
No doubt that she’ll be back - watch for Cheryl Metrick!" reviewer: Maryann Lopinto - CAB MAGAZINE
Cheryl also writes poetry, songs, and draws pictures. She is currently writing a book with Jeree Wade who is a psycho therapist by day, but by night she is an exceptional singer who performs all over the world and currently has her own off-Broadway one-woman show called Midlife - Oh the Drama. The book (no title yet) is about a series of drawings that Cheryl was inspired to create several years ago that have a metaphysical theme and each is accompanied by poems that Cheryl wrote which explain the meaning of each of those drawings. Cheryl was studying spirituality and meditation when she started having visions that plagued her until she decided to try drawing them. Until that time, she had never done any real artwork. Most people that view the drawings are deeply moved by them.
Cheryl has written a new cabaret act which she will perform on Long Island and in New York City later this year. Frank Owens is the musical director, Jeree Wade is the director, and Ty Stephens is the choreographer. Jeree and Cheryl are also collaborating on a future cabaret show that they will perform together early next year.
